Larry Mistric

I would first like to thank:

God for giving me the ability,

My family for understanding my commitment,

My training partners for all their helping making this possible,

The Power lifters themselves and the people involved, they

are what makes this sport enjoyable.

My career takes 2 paths; my first meet was in 1980 in the 165# class, while I was attending Lamar College. Over the years I went up in weight classes about every other year, obtaining numerous state records along the way. By 1987 I was in the 242# class and was a valid contender competing on the National level. In 1990 I retired from power lifting and began competing in Slow Pitch Softball, which lead to Fast Pitch Softball, and then finally the over 30 Baseball League. In 1996 I received a call from a group of local Power lifters in the area, and was asked to come in and give advice. That’s all it took. I was soon back in the gym training, now in the 220# class as a Master Lifter. In 1998 I started training with a former training partner Mike McDaniel. We push each other to new personal best, to rewrite the record books on the State, American, and World level.

After all “we are not getting older we are just getting better”.
